Father God
Getting to know you
Is a wonderful gift
But doing so 
Isn't easy or quick

Sometimes I know you're close
But sometimes you feel distant

Thank you that faith
Does not rely on feelings
But instead chooses
To trust what you've told me

Sometimes getting to know you
Feels like falling in love
I'm in awe of your goodness
Overwhelmed by your mercy
Obsessed with your presence

But sometimes getting to know you
Feels like I'm uphill hiking
I know you are worth it
But my brain struggles understanding
So doubt creeps in to give me a test

However
The more I learn
The more you teach me
The more my confidence grows
That you are 
Faithful and compassionate
Unchanging and unfailing
The Light of my life
My Creator & Savior

Jesus
You love the poor
You heal the sick
You mend my heart
You give me grace & mercy

Thank you
For making a way
For us broken, needy humans
To get to know you
